《不可能的任务》初代登陆PS2平台，游戏由KOEI加拿大制作小组a负责开发，游戏讲述一群占领军事卫星的管制中心、并且提出无耻要求的可怕分子，以及勇於对抗他们的特种部队S.C.A.T.两者之间的战斗。 故事的主角因运输直升机故障，使他必须独自潜入机构。 在一分一秒不断逼近的期限中，他将与好整以暇的可怕份子们进行死斗，和队友重逢、合作、迸出爱情的火花，并且遭到背叛。
《不可能的任务2 海神计画》将承继前作的故事背景及游戏系统，游戏除了提供玩家众多不同的武器种类外，每个角色都具备近身格斗技巧，游戏将以路线式层进故事系统开展，本作提供了30项艰巨任务供玩家去征服，为适应各种玩家，游戏也会提供各种难度选择。
